  w2k/xp i presume?
  what works for me is putting the type1 .pfm files in here:
  C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeFontsReqrdBasePFM
  and the .pfb files in here: C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeFontsReqrdBase
