    I think the biggest problem with the Republican Party is that it never follows it own ideals. They preach smaller government, they preach less government intrusion, they preach fiscal responsibility but in the past 30yrs they have been anything but. So ultimately I think the ideals are sound, they've just been overrun with overly emotional, overly religious ideologues who preach vague concepts of what their party stands for but ultimately would never follow.

    I think these ideals are still very popular in this country and if they can once again mis-represent themselves as following what their party stands for then we will see a swing towards their camp.

    I'm kind of bitter on both parties. I think Dems took it this time not only because of Bush's massive unpopularity but also because Obama is such a charismatic figure.
