    American opportunity, ethical/technological/societal achievement, justice and rights, and all-around sheer badassery are unparalleled in the pitiful history of our species. America is, furthermore, destructible only through self-inflicted damage and deliberate neglect and rot; this destruction is well underway. The rest of humanity is screwed once this ship goes down. Not only will you no longer have your favorite object of deranged obsession and hatred, you will have gained something really worth hating (something which won't, incidentally, pause to consider your "feelings" or "self-esteem" as you are crushed beneath it). Spengler appears to find vindication with each passing decade...
