here in AUS we have a printer called Bambra Press and they have this amazing new digi printer. they have done several small runs of books for us and you can honestly not tell the difference between digi and offset (in most areas). so i'd check with some of your better and bigger offset companies to see if they have this digi technology, as you can layout your own book to the size and spec you want - not some crappy pre-defined layout.
