So basically Adam Smith, you know, Mr. Capitalism, Mr. "Invisible hand of the market" is essentially saying it is the governments responsibility (i.e the "sovereign") to a) provide for defense of the society from threats, b) deliver equality and justice to all members and c) provide public functions that otherwise wouldn't or can't be provided by private interests. Also in the first part of the paragraph he intones that it is only right for the government, in pursuit of the principles below, to proscribe certain individual rights.

Interesting, as all you rightwing douchebag "freemarket"capitalist love to quote Adam Smith, but think points B & C are unnecessary and "Un-American: and do all your black hearted best to call such things "socialism".

Which just goes to prove you can't comprehend what you read and are selfish pricks just out to justify your shitty little self interests at the expense of the rest of society. You'll use anything and misquote whatever in the search for a barbaric superior moral justification for selfishness

    • I agree with a-c in total. What's the problem here??? Obama is the one violating these rules, btw. So exactly what say you?
      ********
    • I think it's the extent in which B & C that are applied that are questionable. Pretty vague TBO.tommyo
    • Public functions to me = roads, schools, BLM land, police, fire, etc. Health care is NOT something that 'can't be providedtommyo
    • by private interests.' Sure it's not perfect right now, largely because of the gov in the first place. But your interpretationtommyo
    • is definitely not the same as mine, and I think it wouldn't even be applicable to your quote there from Mr. Smith.tommyo
    • All you leftwing federalist cocksuckers love to think that mommy gov will make everything okay. Touche! :Ptommyo
