There are so many other player involved in this scheme. I'm not sure why Bernie isnt singing. Maybe he'll get some plea arrangement to lower the time he needs to serve (actually, it may be too late -- I think plea bargaining happens before the verdict, no?).
The Picowers are a good example of the fishiness in this case. They're being portrayed as victims with a good cause (their foundation). But the article below claims that they took out $5 billion more than they invested. Picower told Madoff how much he was to get in return for his money. In one of those years one of Picower's accounts had a gain of 950%.
