Yeah, here's your gov at work.
So I went to get a CA drivers license. On the questionnaire it asks me if I have any medical conditions. I write down that I have diabetes (I should have left it blank).
Now, 2 months after I applied for the license, I have in front of me a 9 page packet of questions for myself and my doctor before they'll issue me the god damn drivers license. It takes them 2 fucking months to look at my application, see the part where it says 'diabetes' and say 'Send a medical questionnaire to ______.' So now I've got to bother my doctor with this bullshit for what exactly? They gave me a standard vision test at the DMV (passed), my doctor can't predict that I might have low blood sugar at some point and hit someone. So all he can basically tell them is 'he's in good health' by filling out 5 of the 9 pages.. what exactly do they hope to learn from a 9 page medical form.. but here I am without a god damn license.. I've had to take my fucking passport everywhere I go. Everytime I switch cars I need to bring my temporary drivers license paperwork. Who f'ing knows how long it's going to take these idiots to review and approve this packet of bullshit they sent me.. It took them 2 whole fucking months just to send me this pile of shit. I guess I might have a legit license sometime in 2010. Seriously all gov can seem to do is get in our way with their inept bureaucracy. Fuck them.
