Honduras needs to get with the program and elect a President for more than just 4 years. Sure, Zelaya is friends with Hugo, but he was trying to have an extension of presidency by a "democratic" vote to take place by the people of Honduras to add 4 more years. It was to happen today and the coup took place instead.
The way to economic development (for Honduras) is to have a leader that can sit in office and have and see his programs come into fruition. If you had a president at a corporation change every 4 years the company would ALWAYS perform at a mediocre level because there was not enough consistency of leadership.
So the same goes for Honduras, it's a country of 7.5 million people and the average yearly income is like $4,000 dollars a year, so the country is exploding and there is lots of growth potential but you need longer term leadership (more that just a 4 years) to build it up.
Too bad he's out, democracy lost again. Oh well...
- No... he was FORCING a vote
