You know, you shouldn't apologize to us. If you really want to be a designer (in contrary to your user name) you should just apologize to yourself. Because being a designer (should have) nothing to do with the money, it should be about striving to create original work for your clients (quality of ass aside : )
As for this new one, it's actually worse (which has zero to do with location of the logo). It's now a much harder to read because of the stark contrast of what appears to be liquid, filling the letterforms (which alone by themselves are not the easiest to read). Also, how the liquid enters the letterforms and how it (should) flow within them is very unnatural. If this should be liquid, it should perhaps look less like exploding popcorn (among other things). Come on man, get your eyes of your clients ass and start designing. From the looks of your portfolio, it looks like your capable of much more!
