not sure what you mean by 'gave the impression'? it is a animation and originated from japan, so doesn't that make it an anime. as for the film itself...i thought it was brilliant. fantastically lush visuals and a quirkily original storyline. really quite surreal at times, but enchanting never the less. you really do lose yourself into it for 2 hrs. highly recomended.
anyways...enough of my jonathan ross (film critic) impression ;)
