    I'm pretty sure the police arent meant to be usig punching in the face as part of their way to get the guy to surrender.

    I have an ex who's now a police woman, they go through excessive training on how to be able to control people - pressure points and arm/leg twists to render you into submission.
    these tactics are a first resort and usually work.
    a small police woman could render the biggest of guys into submission with these techniques.

    second tactic is to use their telescopic truncheons which they can use to disable your legs sending you to the ground - where they are meant to then render you into submission.

    third would be pepper spray to render you into submission or in so much pain you cant really fight back.

    it's a bloody disgrace to the british police force that 4 grown male officer, using those techniques could not render this guy into submission and had to resort to using the final step which is to use the taser,

    BUT not only that, they went further and threw in a few point-blank punches to the guys face.

    reports are that the guy assaulted an officer earlier in the night or before this video was shot so that's probably why the police were being heavy handed, but punches to the face in PUBLIC, come on guys, save that for the "oh he tripped on the way into the cells thats why he's got black eyes mister judge" excuse.
