I think the immigration 'issue' is a bit of a fallacy -> if someone is able to come to the UK, work and is paying taxes then what's the fucking problem? If we make it impossible for someone in the UK to work legally, then we're shooting ourselves in the feet.
In the UK we love to moan and complain, but rarely do much to positively change our society for the better; we just blame and pass the buck instead. The BNP is a concentration of the worst of what it means to be British. Even if they were able to deny charges of racism, their general political stance is totally selfish, protectionist and hypocritical.
Our culture is being erode by the influence of global commercialism - not immigration. If the British people have an identity crisis, it's our problem - not the problem of the people who come to live here.
- I think a lot of people have concerns about the rate of immigration and making sure its properly managed (in terms of services)ribit
- ..services, integration).ribit
- Yeah, fair enough: but if people are paying taxes they are supporting the services they use - in terms of integration********
- I think that's a more difficult question.. because you can't force someone to give up what they identify with********
- integration should be a two way street. My life has seriously been enriched through being mates with people from other cultures********
- countries and cultures - I'm sure that would be true for the majority of us.********
