  moth this has nothing to do with national culture,
  gaining vote on a politic of fear only leads to more chaos, there are too many examples of this tecnhic easily getting out of hand, I live in Italy where the government is currently using fear on a hourly bases to gain votes.

  look I'm not saying you should cancel your culture (maybe the cooking bit) but you should be open to people from different background coming in to have a better life.
  btw wasn't the british empire one of the most brutal and ruthless one?
