Live in Manhattan for at least a year. Then move to Brooklyn. I know a lot of people that started out in Brooklyn limited themselves to the hipster realm and dont know anything about the city as a result. I live in BK now and its incredible for me - but I also lived in Manhattan for 5 years. I think everyone should experience Manhattan and develop a bitter hatred of everything that is wrong with the world.
