Ok, cars don't treat us like vehicles. They force us off the road, they overtake us and then turn left, forcing us to slam on the brakes, they overtake us and then stop without leaving space for us to overtake them again, they hoot and rev up right behind us if we try to cycle in the middle of the road.

    So we are not vehicles.

Pedestrians walk out in front of us in busy roads as though we don't exist. They cross through RED PEDESTRIAN LIGHTS en masse as long as there are no cars, forcing us to screech to a halt. They walk nonchalantly in the middle of cycle paths, causing us to stop.

So what are we? vehicle? no. Pedestrians? no. WE ARE CYCLISTS!! We are halfweay between the two, and should..and do.. have our own set of rules, whether you like it or not. And believe me if you lot of whingers got off your fat arses and tried it, you'd realise that it's actually really difficult and frustrating, and that tiptoeing through the odd light ONCE IT'S SAFE TO DO SO is the least we should be allowed. I do get pissed at the couriers who literally shoot through, but most of us do it when it's safe, and at a very reasonable pace. I apologise if it LOOKS like we're hurtling towards you, but believe me after a lifetime of cycling we know if we're going to hit someone or not. I've been doing it for my whole life and have NEVER hit anyone, except for.. surprise surprise, a guy who walked out into the middle of a hight street without looking at all.

    zing.
