lol at the hate i got for my post
i dont hate all cyclists, and i use my bike a lot in edinburgh too - but i follow the laws when i'm on it.
it's the same d*cks that i see day in day out on the same route that i know have cut me up or shot lights that i'll inconvenience by tucking in to the kerb or parked cars, not just any random cyclist.
theres many a time the green man has been showing and i've went to step out to cross the street and a cycylist has shot through and just missed me, as far as i'm concerned i'm quite entitled to either shout something or stick in the boot if i got the opportunity. just as i'd do the same if it was a car that shot through a red light and the green man - they'd probably get a coin or lighter from my pocket thrown through their window or a boot in one of the panels.
same would go with a pedestrian, if someone was barging down a street knocking into folk as they did then they are just asking for someone to retaliate when they got knocked, no?
i understand the anger of cyclists to drivers, especially busses and taxi's. i've seen quite a few innocent couriers hit by cars or taxi's and just left and pedestrians have ran to their assistance.
but if i witnessed the cyclist doing something illegal then being hit as a consequence (or indeed a driver doing something wrong and being hit) then yup, i'd just be like "d*ck! serves you right!"- if a cyclist comes close enough to you for you to sock him, then go for it. Fair game.********
