    Ok so how about this, if the illustrator had bought a bunch of the dolls and used them as 'reference' for their illustrations, would it still be plagiarism? Or is the kerfuffle merely because the photographs were clearly traced, thereby ripping the photographer's work off? If you own the dolls, is it still ripping off?

    • The dolls are original works of art created by small artist groups. If the dolls were only references for poses or lighting, then there wouldn't be a problem. But it's like buying a betty boop doll and making a painting from it and calling it your original design. If she credited the sources, this wouldn't be AS BIG of a problem as it is. The tracing is still low, tho.dechanique
