I'm not super swamped with work these days, but if all the proposals I've been working on turn into actual paid work, I'll be slammed until October.

In the past, five things have kept me going during times of near-burnout:
    1. Regular time with God—in church on Sundays (corporately) and each morning while I drink my coffee (privately). Taking at least Sunday off, if at all possible, helps tremendously in allowing me to recharge from long work weeks.
    2. Surfing—crossed off the list for now, no waves on the Mississippi.
    3. I'm madly in love with my wife, and she cracks me up which helps break tension.
    4. I've got a bright little 7 month-old boy who changes every day, and whose smile could solve world hunger.
    5. Staying the hell away from QBN.
