Not quite what I expected– this wedding may mark the tearing apart of me from my mom, but the striking of new bonds with some cousins. I haven't even seen my dad in almost a week, I wonder if that will calm down my mom (he's coming up for the day of the wedding which is tomorrow, and then leaving the next day). Short version: I gave younger cousins a ride from restaurant to their house, was about to leave with older cousins to their apartment for some drinks, etc and I figured oh, hey, I'll let my mom know I'll be back later. I was surprised she was having none of it, and it turned into a pretty intense argument/discussion. I feel good though, because it's the first time I've told her explicitly my opinions on drugs and the like. I'm inches away from being disowned by the entire side of the family (at least the parents' generation and up). So I guess raincheck on the party, I really like my older cousins because we're all blacksheep...
Anyway, I realized it's really hard to drive with a shirt buttoned all the way up and tie pulled unless you sit just right.
- Note: Apologies if my tone is at all angsty, as I actually feel more sympathetic and a little relieved.ismith
