I've been running CS4 for a while now on both my MBP 2.4ghz Intel, 2gb ram at work & Dual core, Intel Mac Pro, 5gb ram at home... runs without any hiccups so far and is slightly faster on startup than CS3 was for me.
I spend most of my time in PS, and I have to say I think some of the UI changes are useless/annoying... all those big buttons for effects? What heavy PS user clicks shit instead of hot-keying? It's moot though, since you can adjust your workspace.
CS4 has some pretty essential upgrades for digital painters... nicer brushstroke engine, free rotation of the canvas, much nicer handling of multiple documents. I like it!
