"Why? Obama didn't cause the recession..."

If he didn't cause it, he better hope to hell that his massive spending DOES work, or we are ALL toast...

... I think what you will see in 2012 is that we will have stabilized the economy and the signs of a recovery will clearly be there by then."

Oh yes, since the majority of the spending begins in 2010— how convenient, just in-time for elections, and just in time for Obama to "utilize" this spending during the second half of his term.

"The worst has already been averted to a large degree."

You are fucking kidding, right. If not, you may want to apply for a job as "Mr. Know It All" and "Chief Executive of "Crystal Balls".

"Also don't underestimate the power of incumbency, it's very difficult to beat a sitting president unless they are extremely unpopular, and all signs point to Obama's popularity holding steady or actually rising slightly in the past month."

Obama's POPULARITY remains high, but his APPROVAL has dropped, remarkably, amongst Dems as of late as Obama flips and flops on issues like a fish out of water.

Bottom line is that Obama is (taxing and) spending more than most anticipated. Look to California and 46 other states who are economically broken and ask them if spending is the solution.
