    She and I were together for a year, and really, her interfering with my work was only one of our many issues.

    I know what you mean though, WeLoveNoise, and I think ultimately, you just need to impress upon her the significance of your work and how it is an investment you're making in your collective futures. With the money you're saving, you can buy her a big ring, a down payment on a new house, and nest egg for when the babies come and she wants to stay home...

    ...and like I said before, there are SOOOOO many ways in which you two can make this time you spend working not mutually exclusive with her.
