Sounds like you're with a Dumb Bitch™.
A girl who truly understood you and what it is you do would never question the time you take to put into a job and earn yourself some cash.
If you find yourself getting distracted while she's around simply tell her you need the time to do work and you can spend time with eachother after you get your shit done.
My summation is that if she is going to interfere with your career and passion, why keep her around?
