One thing I'm wondering...why the need to convince Ben to stab? Couldn't the anti-Jacob have just pulled his same shape shifting trickery on the first people to land on the island and convinced them to do the stabbing rather than orchestrating such an elaborate sequence of events to get Ben and Locke inside the statue? Maybe murdering Jacob is just to get the ball rolling though and the actual "loop hole" is something yet to be seen...it could even be the result of detonating the bomb.
