    You'll think you can be friends at first (although these feelings will differ depending on who dumped who) but it will never work out long term.

    Just get them out of you life... either they don't want to be with you or you don't want to be with them – why stay as friends? Seems harsh but life is too short. It didn't work out, deal with it.
