A great conservative critique of how the Republican party went off the rails, written by the first Federal judge appointee of Ronald Reagan:

His main point, among many, is how the Republican party, starting after the Clinton years embraced religious tests and an overall anti-intellectual, anti-reason stance in it's general policies. And in doing so has driven all the rational, actual policy makers from the party. A fair and spot on critique I'd say.
The BEST (brilliant) part though is reading the comments though, mostly left by Republicans/conservatives calling the guy a dumbshit, "not a real conservative" and then it devolves into comment after comment arguing about how old the earth is and how global warming is not possibly man made phenomenon and a just a giant plot by Al Gore and the "dim-o-crats".
Point proven, Judge Posner. I feel sorry for you guys.
