Do you have any options set in Modify> Page properties (Apple-J) that is putting borders automatically onto anything you add to a page? I had that problem last week... everything had greay borders round it.

High definition grey.******** - Just taken a look and I don't think so.
It's almost as if it's set to display at 80% or something.character1
