Sorry, I don't agree. I do the jobs of about 3 or 4 people in a "normal" agency and get about half the money. "Just over £1000" just covers my mortgage, loan and credit cards, food and bills. Edinburgh's not a cheap place to live.
National average for a designer (print, middleweight) is about £23.5k which translates to about £1550 per month, take-home pay.
