Is your God (a) so powerful that he could create a universe in which he did not exist so that (b) in an act of ultimate humility, he was not constantly worshipped by his creations ? Discretion is the better part of valour, to love something is to set it free. If I can understand that it is a greater thing to have created the universe then ceased to exist, leaving mankind and all of creation with a genuine privacy of thought, than to have created the universe and then hung around peering into our every thought, alive or dead, then surely this is a greater notion of god-as-creator to which to aspire than that of god-as-overseeing-omnipresent-fa... from which there is no escape, no privacy, and ultimately no real identity. ?
Thats to say - if I was god, I'd have made the universe then fucked off and left people with their dignity and space, THAT would be love, not this constant 'hovering' and control-issues.

    • I don't believe in a God like that. And the God of the Bible has not revealed himself in this way.teleos
    • You do. You believe in a god that constantly hears your thoughts, and is never not-there.mikotondria3

    • Absolutely not strawman. This is your god, from your bible. Omnipresence is the only point I am arguing here. Yes?mikotondria3
