The thing i struggle with here, and in real life as well, is how far to go with the jocularity. i worked with this really nice guy and we would poke fun at each other and feign mean-spiritedness. And when you do that it becomes a one-ups-manship thing and escalates. Finally he had the common sense to say, "i don't like how this is going, we need to dial back" And i really appreciated that and respected him for that, because it was getting to be too much.
Here, i cancel multiple posts a day because i start going to far or start poking the same kind of fun i do with people i "know" here with names i have rarely or never seen before.
It's almost like playing a game of "Who Can Punch the Hardest (Interweb Edition)". If someone doesn't say "Yeah, i'm in" and understands whats coming and that it's nothing personal, it can really piss someone off.
