the girl/wife and i have been talking about getting a sliding screendoor for our living room for some time. the problem is the odd dimensions of the french doors in our condo. going to any store in our area gives us the option of either 32in or 36in wide. 32 is too narrow and 36 is too wide.
so, i was toying with trying to build one. they sell most of the pieces separately and i would end up having to by a screen replacement kit and halfass it all together.
i was not looking forward to this, but the alternative was to contact a manufacturer and have a custom one built to the tune of $150. not terribly attractive especially since the premade ones are only about 40 bucks. so, a frankenstein monster was the way we were leaning.
kelly is throwing the trash out in the dumpster the other night and comes back in and says, "you'll never guess what's in the dumpster." it was a sliding door that apparently someone had tossed because the rollers were shot. nothing else was wrong with it.
