haven't been to Galway city in years (my girlfriend is from outside of Galway). I used to spend most of my time in Tigh Neachtain http://tighneachtain.com/ and Roisin Dubh http://www.roisindubh.net/
you should head out to the Burren and Cliffs of Moher.
also.. you need to learn this off by heart before you can get through customs in dublin airport
