not sure why anyone would go out of their way to avoid hipsters. they're a harmless lot and from the sound of it you guys don't get out much anyway
silverlake and other "hipster areas" are some of the cleanest, quietest, and crime-free areas in so cal, you're surrounded by the art/fashion/design scene (which i imagine would be a priority for designers here), and there are bangin' chicks everywhere you turn...
