I agree that he seems quite stupid, and he presents and solves problem in a dummy way...
But actually the themes he is talking about are really interesting and important for product designers, and for my experience for interface designers as well...
If you want a better reference on this theme you should look for Norman Donald A. who wrote the most interesting book about product usability
