You can give your employees a PC instead of a Mac, but being honest, a PC will never replace a Mac. Not in any real sense. Workflow issues, IT issues, quality issues, performance issues, happiness issues -- across the board. I would never force a Mac user to use a PC and the same goes for a PC user or Linux user. And there isn't any reason to anyway. Everything on the big 3 are nearly perfectly cross-platform these days. Buying a new printer will always be cheaper than the lost productivity, new software licenses and new equipment purchases to switch platforms. These IT guys just don't know what they're doing. They're probably walking around with Microsoft certifications being scared that people will realize they're not an IT expert or networking expert, they're a Microsoft expert. They'd bitch if they walked in to an office with a Linux setup too but they'd just have to make a different argument than price since Linux will always be cheaper. Price is a scapegoat.
- Price is also a scapegoat on Microsofts new ads because they can't compete on anything else. Different story ...itsmitch
