Read this comment on a political blog, can't say I disagree with him:

When I hear more about Fox News/Limbaugh et al and their tea parties, I am reminded of the Republican Putsch during Roosevelt's first term when they actually tried to take over the government and institute a fascist state because they worried about their loss of fortunes! I hope our news media is more on top of our current crazy bastards this time, but we should never forget that men like DuPont and Clark tried to topple our government because they wanted complete financial freedom to do whatever they want. These teabaggers remind me unfortunately too much of those men of the 1930's. We who forget our history are doomed to repeat it.

....”Alarmed by Roosevelt’s plan to redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor, a group of millionaire businessmen, led by the Du Pont and J.P. Morgan empires, plans to overthrow Roosevelt with a military coup and install a fascist government. The businessmen try to recruit General Smedley Butler, promising him an army of 500,000, unlimited financial backing and generous media spin control. The plot is foiled when Butler reports it to Congress."
