Hey,I am now and always have been an independent voter. Hell, I voted for Perot in 1992 when half of you were in grade school. And I am no fan of the bailouts under both Bush and Obama. But this whole "tea party" thing just strikes me as lame and manufactured. I find PETA lame, and I find it lame when I see some lefty protester in a giant paper mache head and puppets And this just feels the same to me. But hey, I'm all for protesting, so like I said, rock out with your tea bags out, kids.

But don't try to sell me on the idea that it hasn't been, if not manufactured, than at least co-opted for rightwing media propaganda purposes. I'd really like to hear from GR and designbot the day after and wonder if they'll report that sure, there were people protesting the wall street bailout (I'm against) and the stimulus (I'm fairly keynsian macro-economically speaking, so I'm not against per se) and whatever tax issue they think is unfair, but also any sightings of real rightwing signage and protesters? Will you guys also tell us if you see any more traditional left wing issues displayed? I mean if it's such a "non-partisan" issue, and we know from most demonstrations that people of all issue interests tend to show up, will there actually be anyone representing left issues as well as right?

I'm being serious. And again, if you're going, have fun and be safe.
