typeface doesn't bother me...but the fact that the option to see thumbnails or a slideshow is buried at the bottom right and is easy to NOT see and in fact is partially covered by my windows toolbar.
It should be a choice that is obvious where you load the portfolio, not something hidden on the other side of a large page.
that being said, the simplicity of it works for these images, i think
That being said, the large size works generally well to present the idea of this person's work.
