I kept trying to burn CDs last night and this morning, and my burner (on the Mac) was not working properly. About 10 minutes ago, I finally realized that it's because I was stupidly attempting to burn data using a dual-layer DVD. When my shelf fell down a couple months back, my DVDs and CDs got a bit mixed up, and the detail written on them (which helps to differentiate between the two types) is very small. They look similar.

Anyway, I found out that the dual-layer DVD I burned still works, but the DVD keeps spinning forever and ever. So you have to tell the computer that you want to log out or restart when you realize the DVD is not stopping. After a few times of doing this, the DVD will eject, but the computer will still be in the same status (so it won't restart or log me out, apparently). When I put the DVD back in, it played fine. Weird.
