Wow. I'm offended. This guy acts like our business as designers don't count? Like my business is just play? I've taken classes. I've read books. I've been to conferences, seminars and learned a lot from my family (who have run several successful small companies for over 40 years.) We complain about clients when we run across the abusive ones. This is just a classic case of you not hearing about all the good clients and the good projects because they're a little boring to talk about. All this complaining helps the community as we learn together and share how to protect our own business and industry. When I see my client making a mistake on something, of course I'll speak up. They don't have to take my advice but my company treats our clients like partners. We want them to be as successful as possible. I'd hope if I was doing something wrong that they would speak up as well because that's why I work for myself. I know I can do better than the companies I've worked for because I keep an open mind and truly care about my companies as well as my clients.
