I was just chatting about this sort of thing with a chum last night. The roads about where I live are bereft of any kind of sociality - purely because they're such empty, mundane spaces, devoid of focus or participation. Because there's no focus, there's no ownership. No ownership, no love. No love, no hope.

It's crazy - we've built ourselves in to these huge city machines, but for the most part, they become inhuman extensions in which we soon find ourselves alien. We finish work, we traipse back our community, then lock ourselves in gilded cages, preparing for the next day's work.

    • their future still sucks, because it's available now in plenty of citiesPupsipu
