In response to the angry music thread, this was something I was searching for maybe a month ago... a search that ultimately ended in me realizing how much I fucking love Rage Against the Machine. All the metal in the world never spoke to me quite so well as Rage (though I still LOVE it too). But moving on through the last few weeks I've kind of been on a horror binge... not the typical fantastical kind of horror you see in most metal videos or in movies or whatever. I'm thinking of something a little more raw I guess, kind of like the old Faces of Death but even more personal. This is the kind of feeling I get listening to Deli Creeps, but I have yet to find other bands like this. As a guitarist, I have a love/hate thing for Buckethead (too long to explain, but suffice to say I would welcome a little less stiffness to his playing...), but a lot of the themes I'm very close to. And though I normally despise acoustic albums, there was something haunting in parts of the Acoustic Shards album, enough to let me forget who's playing and put my own images to it. I get the same feeling from some Primus, although it strikes me as more sarcastic than eerie. What I would really like to find more of is both music and movies that just really fuck with you. I've spent a lot of time in the last few days looking for some evil bluegrass and country, since I have so many childhood memories that I can relate to it (my dad's family grew up deep in the South Carolina woods, and I've had a number of crazy experiences down there).

I'm talkin motherfuckin swamps filled with dead things yo! Or communal living with subtle hints of cannibalism! Children of the corn or something! I know this is gonna sound really fucked up but lately I've felt pretty fucked up, so it's my hope that I can kinda get it out of my system or figure it out.
