tommyo - I'm with BlueOne - I wouldn't lump a family run business (especially one that is investing in the social capital of the communities in which it operates) in with a corporation as most people percieve it. I find the "evil corporation" moniker unhelpful because there is good business and there is bad business.
You can quickly connect the need to run a business with the associated value of responsibility. This is simply not the case in many big businesses - there is massive disconnect with promoted values and actual impacts on society/employees/environment etc.
In my job I work directly with policy makers, businesses (we're mostly interested in supporting small businesses e.g. less than 250 employees), some NGO's and educators so I get to see the issues from all sides.
