  ever hear of "divide and conquer"? in american like else where its the main stay of politics. YOu have Bush the evil dumbass for 8 years straight getting his way constantly then immediatly replace him with boy wonder and you've essentially ripped the general popular political atmosphere into shreds with these extremes. Throw in a little disaster and crises profiteering and watch as the populace shrink into a pacfied numb state of apathy and false optimism.
