I used to get breakfast in a place off the gran via called mama ines, again lovely food, nice coffee and pleasant staff.

One thing I would suggest, pick up a phrase book. I got one for 6 euro in chapters and used it every day. I found that people I talked to had little to no English so having the phrase book was very useful especially in restaurants.

    • Gracias tío! My Spanish might be far from fluent but good enough to impress my companion and irritate waiters :)raf
    • ..ends with waiters forcing conversation into English, my friends chuckling. Doesn't stop me from trying though! :)raf
    • Hahaha, ah u should be fine so! After a week I could just about ask for a table in a restaurant, order food and say thanks!ian
