yeah, button safe is even smaller than title safe... and as I say avoid alphas overlapping... if you have a diagonal shaped alpha... you have to take into account the bounding box of it, and not just the black of the 1 bit image...
you also need to know what type of DVD you are doing is it full height anamorphic etc... at the very least you need to design at 768 and then squish down to 720... but worth getting a spec from the tech team.
