Unless you have a very good reason to then you shouldn't do it. Here's why.
Typefaces are made with certain proportions, stroke and line weight and density. When you stretch a font vertically/horizontally you throw all of those things out of whack. Aside from essentially defiling a typeface that a designer worked hard to create and to make legible and more than likely with a very specific and intended use it's just bad practice. It looks like you just made Clip Art.
