CS3 Stupid Question (PSD)

    Okay, let me try and re-state my problem.
    In CS1 PSD, I have become used to selecting layers in the layers palette and linking them. So if I had a document with 50 layers, I could select layer 13, layer 25 and layer 48 and I could link them all and move them all in synch with each other, but I could do this whilst leaving them in their respective positions within my layer stack.

    Now, if I select layer 13 and attempt to select layer 25... I also have to select all the intermediary layers. They only way I seem to be able to select certain layers to group them is by getting them all next to each other in my layers palette which I don't want to do.

    Any ideas?
