Most contracts treat it as "work made for hire", meaning you don't retain any rights to the files. Unless you specify that the source is yours and you're granting them a license to use the end product, you probably owe them the files.
- in the case of being hired as a white label I would agree, but i'm wondering in that applies for direct client work.shockalot
