I think there are two reasons to contribute to the book. One is a charitable gesture for Patrick, the other is to have a few pieces of work in an anthology that is being published by a reputable publisher.
Personally, Patrick was way before my time, so my motivation leans more towards the personal.
The reason the book idea came to fruition though was to do something that could raise funds for the Patrick O'Brien foundation. Its a family thing. Patrick is part of the QBN family.
